This is a newsletter for two African American Methodist churches of which James Blaine Walker was the pastor.  They were Mount Lebanon Methodist Church at Lebanon in Laclede County, Missouri, and Elkins Methodist Church at Rolla in Phelps County, Missouri.  Included are church calendars and news items, inspirational articles, and advertisements for local businesses.

This newsletter was printed on a single sheet of newsprint that was folded over to make four pages.  Although undated, the church calendar indicates a publication date of spring 1950, as Palm Sunday fell on 2 April and Easter on 9 April.  The news items noted that the Mount Lebanon church had a new parsonage and a reorganized Sunday School, and that “Pastor Walker preached his first full sermon since January 8.”
