This is a booklet published to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the Cape Girardeau Baptist Association, which was organized in June 1824.  Included are a schedule of the 150th annual meeting of the Association, a historical summary by J. C. Maple, a list of member congregations, and a list of past meeting dates, places, and officers.

The Cape Girardeau Baptist Association was organized at a meeting on 12-14 June 1824.  Originally it encompassed a large area of southeastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois, but over the years it became confined largely to congregations in Cape Girardeau, Perry, Ste. Genevieve, and Scott counties in Missouri.  This 76-page booklet was published to celebrate the sesquicentennial meeting of the Association on 29-30 August 1974.  There is a separate program sheet for the final evening of the meeting, which featured messages by Dr. Thomas W. Nelson of the Missouri Baptist Convention and Dr. C. Wade Freeman of the Texas Baptist Convention.

The first two pages of the booklet provide a schedule of events for the sesquicentennial meeting, and pages 17 to 26 are a reprint of a history of the Association through 1912 that was compiled by J. C. Maple.  Pages 27 to 53 list the 26 active member congregations in the Association, including snapshots of the church buildings and photographic portraits of the pastors.  Pages 54 to 56 list inactive and former members, pages 57 to 60 describe the Southeast Missouri Baptist Foundation, and pages 61 to 65 discuss Associational activities.  The final five pages of the booklet list the date, host congregation, moderator, clerk, treasurer, keynote sermon, and missionaries for each meeting of the Association since its inception in 1824.
