One folder.
This is a brochure for “Expense-Paid Tours to and thru
the Ozarks and Ouachitas” offered by Crown Coach Lines of Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri. Eight tours
are described, starting from Kansas City and extending as far as New Orleans and San Antonio.
The Crown Coach Company of Joplin operated as Crown Coach Lines, an inter-city bus
company. This brochure describes eight
different tours, including itinerary, cost, accommodations, and
activities. The starting point for all
tours was Kansas
City, although a
table provides fares from other cities in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. Most tours
were seven to eight days in length, although the longest, including New Orleans and San Antonio, was eleven days.
Most of the tours centered on the Ozark Plateau and the Ouachita Mountains.
The brochure is not dated, although the illustrations
and prices suggest the late 1940s. The
company’s traffic manager was Claude E. Brown.
