This is a certificate for 150 shares of stock in the
According to papers filed with the Missouri Secretary
of State (Certificate of Incorporation No. 13245) the
This is stock certificate No. 1, dated 19 March 1902 and
issued to company president John P. Jackson and signed by Jackson and corporate
secretary J. E. Oldham, for 150 shares at $10 per share. Written crosswise on the face of the
certificate are “Ordered Annulled and Nos. 30 + 31 issued in lieu of, Mar 13/03,”
and “The Capital Stock of the Company consists of the SW ¼ if Sec. 11, Twp. 26,
Range 33 in Newton County Missouri, and the mines and improvements
therein.” The transfer form on the back
of the certificate indicates that John P. Jackson transferred the shares to
“Jno. A. Sea as Treasurer” on 24 April 1902.
Papers on file in the Missouri Secretary of State’s
office list the “Officers as of 1940” as president N. D. Jackson and secretary
