This is a program for a performance by “Devi Dja and her Bali-Java Dancers, with Native Gamelan Orchestra,” on Tuesday evening, 30 March 1943 in the Senior High School auditorium at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri. The Springfield Community Teachers Association sponsored the appearance.

Devi Dja (also styled as Dewi Dja) was a native of Bali who organized this touring dance group during the Second World War. This program describes the fourteen individual scenes of the performance, provides a brief background on the traditions of Balinese and Javanese dance, and lists the instruments in the native Gamelan orchestra.

From 1946 to 1952 Devi Dja was married to the noted Native American artist, Acee Blue Eagle.
