R Camp
Blackstone (Galena, Mo.).
1047 Pamphlet, n.d.
One folder.
This is a small promotional pamphlet for Camp Blackstone,
a resort on the James River near Galena in Stone County, Missouri. The proprietor was Dr. G. H. Black.
Camp Blackstone,
“The Real Dude Ranch of the Ozarks,” was located about four miles upstream
from Galena on the James
River opposite White Rock Bluff.
This illustrated promotional pamphlet advertises that golf, tennis,
fishing, and swimming are available at the resort, where guests can stay in
“screened bungalow cabins” complete with boats for $16.00 per week. This undated pamphlet probably was from the
1920s. Photographs printed in the
pamphlet suggest that the resort was previously known as Camp Yocum.
