This is a booklet published by the First Methodist
Church of Dexter in Stoddard County,
Missouri, for the consecration of
its new church building on 12 April 1964.
Included are an order of worship, a history of the congregation, a
membership roll, and a list of church officials from 1877 to 1964. Dr. Arthur C. Fulbright was pastor of the
congregation.
On Sunday, 12 April 1964, the First Methodist Church
of Dexter consecrated its new building at 501 S. Walnut Street. Bishop Eugene Maxwell Frank and District
Superintendent Harvey S. Anglin presided.
This booklet contains “An Order of Holy Worship for the Consecration of
a Church,” “A History of the Dexter
Methodist Church,
Including Historical Facts on the M. E. Church, South,” an invitation to
membership, a statement by the Building Committee (Joe E. Weber, chairman), a
membership roster, a list of church officials from 1877 to 1964, a list of gifts
and their donors, and a list of contractors and suppliers for the project. There are photographs of the old and new
buildings, portraits of Bishop Frank and Pastor Fulbright, the groundbreaking
ceremonies, and the new church under construction.
