This collection consists of a booklet (1928) and a pamphlet (1934) promoting Lebanon in Laclede County, Missouri, as a location for industry, agriculture, and residence.

The illustrated booklet is undated but mentions “This year, 1928 ...” in the text.  It was written by June Algeo and published by the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce.  It contains a “Short History of Lebanon,” a “Geographical and Descriptive Sketch of Lebanon,” Hotel Accommodations,” “Tourist Camps,” “Little Journeys Out of Lebanon,” an area map, “Hunting,” “Lebanon, a Commercial Center,” “Carload Shipments,” “Laclede County Court House,” “Schools,” “Congressman Rubey, a Resident of Lebanon,” “Lebanon, a City of Beautiful Homes,”  of Lebanon,” “Lebanon Community Clubs,” “Fruit Growing,” “Dairying,” and “Poultry Raising.”

The illustrated pamphlet also is undated, but it contains building and loan association assets as of 31 December 1933, suggesting a publication date the next year.  The pamphlet emphasizes the area’s recreational resources, as well as its diversified agriculture and “ideal” residential and business atmosphere.  According to the pamphlet, Lebanon “came through the depression without a business failure and its three banks are among the strongest financial institutions in Missouri.”
