This is Joplin, Missouri: A City of Diversified Opportunities, an illustrated promotional booklet issued by the Joplin Chamber of Commerce at Joplin in Jasper County Missouri.  Al­though undated, the text and photographs suggest a printing in the 1920s.

 

In the 1920s the city of Joplin was facing a secular decline in its major industry, zinc and lead mining and milling.  This 28-page illustrated booklet presents Joplin as a “diversified” trade, manufacturing, agricultural, and tourist center.  Included are sections devoted to Joplin’s history, transportation facilities, parks, public and religious buildings, and economic opportunities.
