This is a “souvenir booklet” for Thompson
Grove School
southeast of Seneca in Newton County,
Missouri. It was presented by teacher Rosa Kellhofer to
her pupils at the close of the school year in 1913.
Thompson Grove School was a public school located in Township 24
North, Range 34 West, Section 36, in southwestern Newton County, Missouri. In 1913 Thompson Grove
School had an enrollment
of 35, with the surnames Firth, Browning, Hendon, Lankford, Robinson, Beck,
Lederer, and Morgan occurring at least twice.
I. H. Moffet, L. A. Hendon, and W. L. Thompson comprised the school
board. A small photographic portrait of
teacher Rosa Kellhofer is on the cover of the booklet.
The booklet includes the names of all of the pupils
and the members of the school board, along with inspirational verses and
sayings.
