George S. Ellyson served as pastor.

Although the specific date is not given in the booklet, the First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau dedicated its new building on 1 July 1928.  This 16-page booklet was published to celebrate the occasion and serve as a program for the ceremonies.  Organized in 1844, First Baptist of Cape Girardeau is one of the oldest continuous protestant congregations in southeastern Missouri.  This edifice at 926 Broadway served until the congregation moved into a new physical plant at 1289 Lexington in about 2005.  Included in this booklet are many photographic illustrations and a church directory of officers and heads of departments and groups.
