R McClintock, R. S.
1109 Letter, 1916.
One folder.
This is a letter dated 28 November 1916 from R. S.
McClintock at Joplin in Jasper
County, Missouri, to Edward A.
Hill at Aurora in Lawrence County, Missouri. The letter deals with mining property near Webb City in
Jasper County.
Although the letter was written on the letterhead of
the Connor Hotel in Joplin, R. S. McClintock
gave his address as 2001 Kentucky
in that city. He told Hill that he could
find no “gilt-edge” mining investments in the Picher and Commerce areas, but he
had “a proposition at Webb
City” that was
available. The property was 55 acres of
“sheet ground” adjoining the Yale Mine known as “the old Santa Fe Lease.” Included would have been McClintock’s mill at
Cave Springs. McClintock mentioned
enclosed “drill records and maps,” but they are not included in this
collection.
