This collection includes a centennial booklet, 1881-1981: Our First One-Hundred Years, and a centennial revival program, 27 September – 4 October 1981, for the First Baptist Church at Purdy in Barry County, Missouri.  The founding pastor was J. K. Northcutt and the current pastor was Ben J. Dobbs.

The First Baptist Church of Purdy was organized as a United, or Missionary, Baptist Church on 4 October 1881 at Long School House.  In 1891 it moved into its own building on a site that it would occupy for the next 90 years.  In 1962 the congregation dedicated a new brick structure, but at the time of the centennial in 1981 it was contemplating a move to a larger site.

This 48-page illustrated booklet was published to celebrate the congregation’s centennial.  Included are highlights from the church minutes, the articles of faith and covenant, and lists of pastors, deacons, trustees, clerks, and other officers.

The single-sheet program is for the “Centennial Revival” held on 27 September through 4 October 1981 at the church.  Included are lists of the church staff and the preachers at the revival.  Most of the preachers were former pastors of the congregation.
