of the Rodney family concerning the Cape Girardeau McAdamized and Plank Road
Company in

There are four items in the collection:
A receipt for $40.00 received from Thomas J. Rodney
“in full of the 3rd call on his subscription to the stock of the
... Company,” dated 24 April 1852 and signed by H. H. M. Williams, President.
Certificate No. 17 dated 14 January 1853, stating that
Thomas J. Rodney was entitled to eight shares in the firm, “on which Two
Hundred Dollars have been paid.” The
certificate was signed by H. H. M. Williams, President, and Jacob Kneibert,
Secretary.
Certification dated 8 August 1856 by G. H. Cramer, City
Collector of Cape Girardeau, that Michael Rodney had presented road tax
receipts paid by Mrs. M. L. Rodney “for and in behalf of the ... Company,”
amounting to $89.03. The certificate is
overwritten “Cancelled by John Lansmon City Collector.”
Receipt dated 15 March 1858 and signed by John
Lansmon, City Collector of Cape Girardeau to Mrs. M. L. Rodney in payment of $
5.24 for “Road Tax due the ... Company.”
