These are three black-and-white photographic prints of views along Rolla Street at Rolla in Phelps County, Missouri.  Two views show the Ritz Theater while the third shows the west side of Rolla Street, south of Eighth Street.  The photographs were taken on the fifth or sixth of March 1950.

 

These 5” by 7” prints were apparently removed from a larger album.  The photographer and the creator of the album are unknown.  The subject of all three views is a group of elementary school or Sunday School children who had attended a showing of The Lawton Story: The Prince of Peace at the Ritz Theater.  This film was shown at the Ritz on Sunday and Monday, 5-6 March 1950.  In the third view the cupola tower of the Phelps County Courthouse can be seen in the dis­tance.  None of the individuals in the photographs are identified.
