and 1930s for several counties and communities in southern

describe the counties and towns in glowing terms, followed by individual
listings of specific enterprises, which probably were sponsors of the
booklet. The text is illustrated by
photographs of selected businesses and public buildings. The businesses are described in “booster”
terminology, but the descriptions also contain useful information about their
proprietors, histories, services, and locations.
