This volume lists residents of Newton County, Missouri, who served in the military during World War II.  Included for each veteran are a photographic portrait, rank, names of parents and spouse, education, a summary of service, and the date of discharge.

 

The Roll of Honor Publishing Company of Oklahoma City, Okla., “compiled and pub­lished” this commemorative volume to honor Newton County’s veterans of the Second World War.  Included are a memorial page to the 32 known residents who died in combat during the war, a photograph of the Newton County Courthouse and brief history of the county, and a photograph and roster of Battery C of the 203rd Coast Artillery Battalion at Camp Hulen, Texas, in 1941.  Be­ginning on page 11, ten to a page, are over 600 entries for veterans, in alphabetical order, includ­ing eight women.
