This is a souvenir booklet for the East Perry Community Fair which was held at Altenburg in Perry County, Missouri, on 20-21 September 1957.   Included are categories for prize competi­tions, a schedule of events, a roster of fair officials, and many advertisements for area businesses.  Howard Fiehler served as President of the fair board.

 

Altenburg is in southeastern Perry County, and the surrounding area was settled mostly by people of German ancestry.  This 84-page booklet provides information about the fair and rules and regulations for prize competitions.  Categories included dairy cattle, beef cattle, swine and sheep, horses and mules, poultry, field and forage crops, horticulture, booths, home economics, and 4-H.  There was an opening parade on Friday afternoon and entertainment on Friday and Sat­urday evenings.
