One folder.
This is a letter dated 17 December 1908 from George P.
Ryan, Principal of Jerico Springs High School in Cedar
County, Missouri, to Carola C.
Ward of El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
The letter concerns Ward’s application for a position in the Cedar County
schools.
Although this letter is written on the letterhead of Jerico Springs
High School, of which
George P. Ryan was the Principal, the text indicates that Ryan might be the
incoming Cedar County Superintendent of Schools. Ryan promises to find a position for Ward if
possible, so that “you may be with us in our County work.”
The accompanying cover notes that Jerico Springs
High School “offers two
years of high school work” and “prepares for teaching and other
professions.” Tuition was $2.00 per
month and board was $2.00 to $2.50 per week.
