R         Lake of the Ozarks Angus Association.

1210                Booklet, 1964.

                                    One folder.

This is a booklet published for the Lake of the Ozarks Angus Association’s “3rd Annual Fall Sale,” held at Eldon in Miller County, Missouri, on 3 October 1964.  Sixty head of registered cattle were offered at the event.  The auctioneer was Max Atkinson.

The Lake of the Ozarks Angus Association was incorporated on 30 October 1962 at Iberia in Miller County, Missouri, “to promote and encourage the breeding, feeding and sale of Aberdeen Angus Cattle, and to conduct sales and educational programs connected with such activities.”  In 1964 Bob Graham was President of the Association and Gilbert Bultmann was Secretary.  The Association forfeited its charter on 1 January 1981 for failure to maintain an annual registration with the Secretary of State.

This 24-page booklet served as a program for the sale and a guide to the cattle to be sold.  Included are the names of the cattle and their owners, detailed pedigrees, and a photograph of Staley Ermitre, a prize bull.  There were sixteen consignors, and the Association had 51 members.
