These are the minutes of the 98th annual session of the Spring River Baptist Association, held with the First Baptist Church of Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri, on 22-23 September 1937.  B. A. Pugh served as moderator, and C. T. Sanders was clerk of the session.

In 1937 the Spring River Baptist Association was comprised of 39 congregations in Jasper and Newton counties in Missouri and Cherokee and Crawford counties in Kansas.  The Association counted over 7,000 members, with the largest congregations being Joplin First, Carthage, Webb City First, and Baxter Springs.

The minutes include a directory, the constitution and rules of order, reports of committees, a record of proceedings, obituaries (actually just a list of decedents, arranged by congregation), and a comprehensive table of member churches, including date of founding, membership gains and losses, buildings, and financial data.
