Sheet
R Lake Spring Cemetery Association.
128 Records,
1878-1945.
One volume.
Included in this collection are minutes
of meetings of the trustees, cash accounts, and miscellaneous records of the
Lake Spring Cemetery Association at Lake Spring in Dent County, Missouri.
The Lake Spring Cemetery Association was
formed upon the donation by Dr. John Hyer of a one-acre burial ground on his
farm at Lake Spring in northwestern Dent County, Missouri. Members of Hyer’s own family had been
buried in the cemetery, and his donation was contingent upon an association
being formed to oversee the maintenance and care of the grounds. The association was incorporated in 1913,
and it continues to maintain the cemetery through the present day.
The records of the association include
minutes of the meetings of the Board of Trustees, cash accounts, incorporation
papers, and other miscellaneous records.
The materials are the business records of the association, and do not
include grave registers or any information regarding the individuals buried
in the cemetery.
Photocopies of the association’s by-laws
have been placed in the Information Folder.
