These are papers of Dr. Alexander Johnston, Chief Surgeon of the Missouri Lumber and Min­ing Company at Grandin, Carter County, Missouri.  The collection consists primarily of re­cords of the Employees Hospital Association of the lumber company, with miscellaneous ma­te­rial from the Congregational Church at Grandin.
