These are records of Kreisel School, which was located southwest of Cole Camp in Benton County, Missouri.  The records include daily and term attendance records, 1870-1871 and 1885-1956; and the records of the district clerk, 1907-1954.

Kreisel School was located in Township 42 North, Range 21 West, in rural Benton County.  It was designated district numbers 3 and 29, consecutively, during the span of these records.  The records consist of two groups: attendance records, kept by the teachers, and district records, maintained by a clerk.  With the exception of a six-page fragment of an attendance record for 1870-1871, all of the material here falls within the period 1885-1956.

Each volume contains several categories of records.  The quantity and quality of entries vary considerably, reflecting the inclinations and abilities of the teachers and clerks.  The attendance records include the classification and standing of each student, reports on the condition of the school building and its contents, and records of visitors to the school.  The records of the district clerk include minutes of school meetings, financial statements, lists of taxpayers and students, and annual reports on the district.
