These are minutes of the twenty-fifth annual meeting of the Bourbois Baptist Asso­ciation.  The Association included rural churches in Phelps, Crawford, Maries, and Osage counties.  The minutes include statistics from the constituent churches.

 

The Association included fourteen active churches, the majority of which were located in Phelps County.  In 1877 the Association met at the Macedonia Baptist Church, six miles north of Rolla.  Two churches were dismissed to join the Dixon Baptist Association, and three others were listed as moribund or defunct.  There were eleven churches in Phelps County, three in Maries County, two in Crawford County, and one in Osage County.  Combined mem­bership was put at six hundred sixty-seven.  The minutes include information on membership and finances, a list of or­dained ministers, and a roll of delegates in attendance.
