  • is (shear) viscosity. The word shear is put in paranthesis because I never saw it used until I started reading an adhesion text.



  • is the radius of the capillary tube of the viscometer.

  • is the pressure drop

  • is the time it takes for a volume of liquid, , to flow through a capillary of length, .

    A friend of mine has just told me that Alberti takes Stoke's law and derives the Hagen-Poiseuille Equation. I will confirm this when I have some free time.
