Dr. Yinfa Ma

UMR Chemistry


Yinfa Ma received his BS degree in chemistry at December 1981 at Zhengzhou University in China and retained at the same university as a director of undergraduate studies of class 1981 and then an instructor in Analytical Chemistry. Ma received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry and minor Ph.D. in biochemistry at December 1990 from Iowa State University. From January 1991 to 2001, Ma serviced as assistant professor and associate professor in chemistry at Truman State University (Kirksville, MO). He moved to chemistry department at University of Missouri-Rolla in the year of 2000. During his services at Truman State University and University of Missouri-Rolla, he and other two scientists co-organized the APCE international conference (Asian-Pacific Capillary Electrophoresis and Related Microscale Separation Techniches) in 1998 at Dalian, China and in 2002 at Shanghai, China. He serves on the scientific committee since APCE meeting was first initiated. He also serves on the science committee for Chinese Capillary Electrophoresis (CCE) since 1993. In addition, he has received numerous awards for his teaching and research. The major ones are: Missouri Professor of the Year (1996), Governor’s Award (1996) and Outstanding Scientist Accomplishment Award (1998), Educator of the Year (1996), Researcher of the Year (1995), Golden Apple Award (1998), Wilbur Tappmeyer Outstanding Teaching award, University of Missouri-Rolla (2002), Outstanding Teaching Award, College of Arts and Science, University of Missouri-Rolla (2002), Dean’s Teaching Scholar (2004-2007), UMR Outstanding Teaching Award (2006-2007, Faculty Excellence Award (2007). He was named as an Honored Professor of Zhengzhou University in 1994, and Honored Professor of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Science, December 2000. He was named Curator's Teaching Professor in December 15, 2007.
