Guest Patron Cards & Services

Guest patrons are welcome to use the library's catalog either at the library or from home.

Use of equipment in the Multimedia Center is restricted to UM students, faculty and staff.

Due to licensing restrictions guest patrons are not permitted to access any proprietary databases from home but may search some databases in the library.

Guest patrons may not use interlibrary loan services. To obtain items from another library we suggest contacting their local public library.

The Curtis Laws Wilson Library offers guest patron cards to Missouri residents who wish to use the library's collection.

To obtain a guest patron card the library requires a photo ID and some proof of Missouri residency, usually a driver's license. Other acceptable forms of identification include a military ID or any official form of photo identification. Social Security numbers must be provided in order to be accorded the privilege of checking out items from University of Missouri Libraries. The library will provide a privacy statement concerning Social Security numbers at the time of registration.

Guest patron cards are valid for two years, and are currently issued at no cost.  Patrons under 18 must have their parent or legal guardian sign the application form.

General collection books may be checked out for one month. Certain restrictions apply for using the library, as referred to in the left-hand column.

The library does provide some computers for public use. The connections have been provided by Sprint. The computers were made available to allow library guests to do research. Guest patrons may access e-mail on the Sprint terminals.
