Other Equipment & Amenities

There are software packages and equipment in the Multimedia Center that allow UMR students and faculty to create illustrated projects and presentations.

 

The Emerson MultiMedia Center is funded by a grant from the Emerson Corporation

The Emerson Multimedia Center is located on the first floor of the library. The PCs in that area are enabled for:

  • Scanning
  • Slide manipulation and editing
  • Graphics manipulation
  • Digital video editing
  • Color printing - 8.5 x 11 -$.50 per page; 11 x 17 - $.75 per page

Color photocopying is available at $.50 per page in the Emerson Multimedia Center

Poster printing

  • $4.00 per linear ft. for regular coated paper;
  • $7.00 per linear ft. for heavy coated paper
  • $10.00 per linear ft. for glossy photo quality paper

Poster laminating - $4.00 per linear ft.

Mini Posters - 18 x 24 - $2.00 per page

Prints on Photo Paper - $1.50 per 8 x 10 glossy

Other Equipment:

There is an older Sony Mavica digital camera available for the UMR community - students, faculty & staff - at a cost of $5.00 per day. The camera may be reserved in advance at the Circulation Desk, 341-4008; or the Library Office, 341-4227.

There are some laptop computers available to UMR students, faculty & staff. They are checked out for library use only on a first come, first served basis. There is a $.20 per hour fine for overdue laptops.

There are an overhead projector and a TV/VCR available for use in the library conference rooms or library study rooms.

There is also a video projector and screen for presentations for use in the library conference rooms or library study rooms.

Study Rooms:

Third floor study rooms, with the exception of room 316, are available on a first come, first served basis. Dry erase markers may be borrowed at the Circulation Desk for use in the study rooms.

There are two conference rooms on the second floor which may be reserved in advance at the Circulation Desk, 341-4008.
