Background
Elizabeth Cudney, Ph.D. received her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. She received her Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a Manufacturing Specialization and Master of Business Administration from the University of Hartford, and her doctorate in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri - Rolla. Prior to returning to school for her doctorate, she worked in the automotive industry in various roles including Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality/Process Engineer, Quality Auditor, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, and Manufacturing Manager.
Dr. Cudney's major areas of interest are in quality engineering, pattern recognition, and healthcare systems engineering. She currently teaches
EMgt 4710 Quality, EMgt 5710 Six Sigma, and EMgt 6710 Design for Six Sigma. Dr. Cudney has published nine books, over 85 journal papers, over
100 refereed conference papers, and has additional publications accepted and awaiting publication.
Dr. Cudney serves as a Series Editor for the Continuous Improvement Series through CRC Press:
Continuous Improvement Book Series. She also served as Editor for the ASQ journal Quality Approaches in Education for five years.
