Marguerite de Navarre’s Network
Marguerite
de Navarre, sister of King Francis I of France, was the most important early sponsor
and protector of evangelicals in France.
She had contacts all over the realm and stood at the center of a vast
network of reform-minded individuals. Much
of her network was subdivided into other closely-knit circles. The following image shows
which individuals were associated with which circles. The information is based on the chapter “Mapping
the Navarrian Network” in Jonathan Reid’s King’s Sister – Queen of Dissent.
