Exam 1, Math 204, Fall Semester 1999
Information on Exam 1, Math 204
The exam will be on Tuesday, September 28, 1999, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am.
It will cover Homework Problems 1 through 22. It consists of
five problems, each worth 16 points. More precise information on the
various problems follows.
- Something is decreasing proportionally to something else. Find the
corresponding differential equation and solve it.
This problem is similar to Homework Problems 10 and 11.
- Solve an initial value problem involving a first order linear differential
equation with nonconstant coefficients.
This problem is similar to Homework Problem 14.
- This is a problem with tanks, water, and dye in the tanks. This problem
is very similar to Homework Problem 15. You also will need to solve
initial value problems as they occur in Homework Problems 9, 12, and 14.
- Solve an initial value problem by separating the variables.
This problem is similar to Homework Problem 18.
- This is a problem concerning a certain population. This problem is
very similar to Homework Problem 19.
Please pick up your Quiz #4 if you need it to prepare for the exam. I will
be available for help on Friday until 6:30 pm and Saturday until 2 pm.
