Julia Albath
I am currently a 2nd year PhD student at the University
of Missouri – Rolla in Computer Science. I graduated
from Illinois
State University with a bachelors in mathematics.
After graduation I worked for a large insurance company
as a systems analyst. While I enjoyed my work and
the company, thanks to a Dale
Carnegie training course, I realized that I wanted
to do more with my life. So I decided to return to
school for a PhD with the intentions of becoming a
professor. I’m currently supported by a fellowship
from the Department of Education (GAANN) and my research
focuses on providing secure, efficient data streaming
applications.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends,
hiking in the forests of Missouri, playing with my
pets and working around the house. I’m originally
from Switzerland and have a chance about once a year
to visit my family, which I enjoy very much.
