The Spline tool is
located on the Draw toolbar. This tool is a way of creating a
multi-point curved line. It could be used to create a curved roof or the
edge of a curved pathway or road, rather than using a straightforward
arc. The Spline is created much like a series of lines are. You can
click in model space any number of times, and each added click will just
continue building onto the Spline.
Once you are done creating
the Spline you want, you will hit enter to end the command. You will now
have the option to bend the ends of the line in whatever direction you
choose. As you move the mouse around, you will be able to see the end of
the line bending around in the direction you have your cursor. This is
important if you want to use a Spline to connect two lines, and want the
Spline to fit perfectly tangent to the end of each line. otherwise,
there will be a slight corner in between the Spline and the lines.
If you do not want to bend
the ends of the Spline, just hit enter twice or right click twice to
proceed through the command sequence. In the image to the right, the
first end was bent, and the second end was left alone by right clicking
and ignoring the bend on that end of the Spline.
