The rough sketch will involve learning about the various parallel processing architectures/paradigms/terminology and the types of problems best suited for different architectures. Programming projects will likely include multi-threaded programming, MPI (Message Passing Interface) programming, and CUDA (GPU) programming projects. At least one project will likely be performed on the Forge.
