Flat and elongated measurements:
The measurement of particle shape (flat and elongated in the aggregate
business) has long been a tedious manual task using proportional calipers. An
alternative is to use high speed imaging technologies to measure the shape of coarse
aggregate particles. |
Using a moving conveyor belt, images are passed by two video cameras which
image the pieces from two orientations. |
The length and width of the fragment are determined from the plan view. |
The height of the fragment is determined from the profile view. |
Output statistics table showing sizes and aspect rations of 100
measurements. |
