The textbook defines the triple point as the temperature and pressure
at which all three phases (gas/liquid/solid) are in equilbrium.
An alternate way to think of this is that in a closed container with
the liquid and the solid, the triple point is the temperature and
pressure that the system will maintain as long as all three phases
are present.
