Prelab

1.	Describe the hazards associated with calcium nitrate
and potassium iodate as given in the MSDS.

2.	Why is it important that a Beral pipet always be held
at the same angle when used in microscale titrations?

3.	In the calibration of a Beral pipet it is determined that
it requires 47 drops to deliver a volume of 2.0 ml into a
graduated cylinder.
What is the volume of each drop from this Beral pipet?

4.	Bismuth sulfide, Bi2S3, is a sparingly soluble substance,
(a precipitate), the solubility of which can be described by
a solubility product constant, Ksp.
Write the solubility equilibrium reaction between the solid
and its ions in solution, labelling the phase (s, aq)
of each of the species in this solubility equilibrium.

5.	Write the solubility product expression, for the above solubility equilibrium.
