Career
Dr.
Dagli is a Professor of Engineering
Management and director of the Smart
Engineering Systems Lab (SESL) at
the University of Missouri-Rolla. He
received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial
Engineering from the Middle
East Technical University and a
Ph.D.from the School of Manufacturing and
Mechanical Engineering at the University
of Birmingham, United Kingdom, where
from 1976 to 1979 he was a British Council
Fellow.
Research Interests
His research interest are in the areas of Smart
Engineering Systems Design through the use of
Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, and
Evolutionary Programming. Current Research
emphasis is on Automated Design, Automated
Inspection, Cutting and Packing Problems, Pattern
Recognition, Process Monitoring and Control,
Scheduling, and Smart Engineering Systems
Architectures.
Publications
He has published more than 150 papers in refereed
journals and proceedings and was a Principal or
Co-Principal Investigator of research grants of
over $1.5 million.
