Thin-Wall Experimental Procedures

1. Use the off-axis strain rosette.
    
2. Measure the rosette offset angle with a protractor.
    
   
    
3. Connect the strain rosette to the switch and balance unit, and connect the switch and balance unit to the strain indicator.
    
   
    
4. Zero the amp and set the strain gage factor on the strain indicator.
    
5. Zero the strain reading for each gage in the rosette with the switch and balance unit.
    
6. Turn the pump lever clockwise to close the pressure release valve.
    
7. Use the pump to apply pressure in 200 psi increments up to a maximum of 2000 psi, taking strain readings for each gage at each increment.
    
8. Turn the pump lever counter-clockwise to release the pressure.
