Troptometer
A troptometer is used to measure arc length. The following relationship can then be used to calculate angle of twist.
s = r Φ
where
s = arc length (distance the pointer moves along the ruler)
r = radius of troptometer (distance from the center of the specimen to the ruler)
Φ = angle of twist
