Upcoming Events

  • October 16 at 4:00 p.m.  Hot Glass Shop Field Trip
  • Meeting place to be decided
  • October 16 at 5:00 p.m. Final practice for Magic Show
  • Meet at 212 Schrenk Hall like any other practice
  • October 17 from 1:00 p.m – 3:00 p.m.  Magic Show presented by the Drs. Grubbs
  • Everyone is invited to the show
  • Before the Magic show from 11:00 a.m -1:00 p.m.  Experiments put on by the W. T. Schrenk Society
  • National Chemistry Week October 19-24
  • Fundraising in Havener
  • Possibly add a raffle ticket sale for Schrenk Society T-shirt
  • Also could have a preorder for shirts
  • The quote for shirts is $7.50 per shirt for a 25 shirt order
  • October 21 at 3:00 p.m. in 126 Schrenk HallProfessional Speaker
  • Professor Hall will present on the chemistry of fireworks in honor of National Chemistry Week
  • October 23 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Mole Day Dinner
  • October 25 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Maramec State ParkChem Department BBQ
  • We will discuss this at an upcoming meeting
  • November 5 at our general meeting Officer Elections
  • There will be a vacant position Vice President- Internal
  • All positions will be up for renewal, though
  • Feel free to run for any position
  • The constitution for the W. T. Schrenk Society is posted on Org Sync under the files tab and contains information on each position

  • Remember to pay dues  $10 per semester
  • Reduced dues for volunteering
  • But feel free to pay the full-amount even if you do volunteer
  • Dues are used to fund the Mole Day Dinner/other fundraisers, food for meetings, gas reimbursement, open lab supplies and other fun stuff
  • Join the National American Chemical Society!
  • Dr. Dawes will refund your first year’s dues
  • Just bring your membership receipt to Dr. Dawes in his office 120C Schrenk Hall
  • His room is next to the elevator on the first floor of Schrenk
