St. Pat's

We participate in the Rolla tradition of St. Pat's that goes back more than 100 years on campus.

"The Best Ever"

In Rolla, St. Pat's is a 10 day long celebration that goes back over 100 years in celebration of the patron saint of engineers. Organizations participate in various events in hopes to win trophies. Sig Tau has a long tradition of winning St. Pat's competitions and always have several members on the St. Pat's Board who organize the town-wide celebrations. We compete in everything from Green Fridays, Follies, Gonzo & Games, and Snake Pits.

Cudgels

A cudgel is a tree that is at least 6 feet tall with roots that are a minimum of 12 inches in diameter. They are designed and worked on by many members in the house.

We have many of our cudgels on display around the house, including some from when the cudgel competition was first introduced.

Snake Pits

Another St. Pat's tradition is the Snake Pits on campus. New members in organizations across campus bring their carved and painted trees, otherwise known as shillelaghs, to "kill" rubber snakes in the pits for St. Pat's points. It is a fun and memorable event for those that do it.

Next, learn about Brotherhood

Being in a fraternity is much more than living with a group of guys. It is about being in a group that pulls together, roots for each other, and cares about each other.
Sig Tau is a family to us.
