Abstract
Platinum thin films can be deposited on materials which are not able to survive oxidizing environments at high temperatures. This work demonstrates that a thin layer of platinum can be deposited on materials and that it had good adhesion and is able to protect the materials at high temperatures in acidic and oxidizing environments.
Yafer Suarez is a currently a graduate student at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the nuclear science and engineering program working towards his PhD. He has a BS and MS and has served as professor of engineering at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.
