 Abstract
Carcinogenic and toxic chemicals as well as bacterial and viral contaminants that are resistant to conventional water treatment processes are found in all water treatment plants. Conventional methods for in situ remediation of chlorinated organic solvents tend to produce undesirable byproducts, whereas the use of nanoscale bimetallic particles has succeeded in eliminating some of these byproducts. We are examining the effectiveness of Palladium (Pd) nanoparticles (PdNPs) as a more efficient method for purifying contaminated water.
