Abstract
Held on the campus of Hickman High School in Columbia, MO, Columbia Aeronautics and Space Association (CASA) is the only student-run space simulation in the country. Over the last several years, what used to be an auto shop has been transformed into a home for a shuttle simulator, a mock-ISS, mission control, and other facilities to run an annual, week-long space simulation. CASA has over 100 participating 6-12 grade students each year between its class at Hickman High School and afterschool program.

With the funding graciously provided by the MSGC, CASA is able to become more involved with elementary school students to promote the program. Third and fifth grade students are targeted so that they will retain their interest in CASA until they are eligible for participation. Winter outreach generally consists of CASA students presenting projects and activities to students outside of the CASA facility because of mission preparation. This year, winter projects included Space Jeopardy, Personal Preference Kit (PPK), Space Food, and Toys in Space. In the spring, groups are invited to the CASA building for a tour of the lab in conjunction with other winter activities.
Emily Fry has lived in Columbia, Missouri all her life. She is currently a junior at Hickman High School and has participated in the CASA program for two years as a Public Affairs Officer. Emily is also involved in Amnesty International, Speak Your Mind, Junior Classical League, and the Duke Talent Identification Program.

Kristyn Sample moved to Columbia, Missouri at the age of five after living in Poplar Bluff. This is her third and final year as part of the CASA program; she is one of two Head Public Affairs Officers. She will graduate from high school this spring. After high school she plans to work for a year, and then attend a military academy. Kristyn is also involved in hockey, paintball, and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
