Selecting and Analyzing Data for Eclipsing Binary Systems

Amanda C. Quint
Missouri State University
Advisor: Dr. George W. Wolf

Abstract
The purpose of this project was to discover eclipsing binaries consisting of low mass, cool, red stars. Data was selected from the “All Sky Automated Survey” website, was then cleaned up and put in a workable format using Microsoft Office Excel. This new data was then exported and analyzed using Binary Maker 3 to produce theoretical light curves and models for the binary systems. We are now in the process of observing the select systems.
