Abstract
The effects of the use of upstream energy deposition in place of a traditional engine centerbody are examined on the NASA Hypersonic Research Engine. Vulcan, a NASA CFD code was used to numerically calculate solutions both of the HRE inlet and a modified version of the HRE inlet with no centerbody, but utilizing utilizing energy deposition.
