- Sharing cost and risk in the development of new conformance control technologies.
- Technology transfer of consortium IP with non-exclusive, royalty-free license to full and golden members in good standing.
- Participate in two semi-annual meeting per year for project planning, selection and review of consortium projects.
- Leveraging consortium funding with other federal/state funding.
- Direct interaction and collaboration with the Consortium's world-class engineers and researchers.
- Access to R&D results, reports and other publications through a member-only website.
- Professional development through consortium workshops and short courses.
- Early access to a pool of graduate and undergraduate students who are skilled in research equipment and techniques, and experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Consortium Membership Agreement
- The membership agreement will be between “The Curators of the University of Missouri on behalf of Missouri University of Science and Technology” and member company, and the same agreement will be used with all member companies.
- A member can select one of three following membership levels.
- Gold member - $100,000 per year
- Full member - $60,000 per year
- Associate member - $30,000 per year
- Missouri S&T will not charge overhead costs on the membership fee, which are currently 55.5%.
- Associate Members shall be granted the following benefits in consideration of their membership fee.
- Access to publications of Consortium Projects at an early stage for timely review of new developments prior to their wide dissemination.
- Invitation to the Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) meetings.
- Invitation to workshops/short courses hosted by Consortium.
- The right to use for only internal research and evaluation purposes all reports, data, and information contained therein resulting from Consortium Projects for research and evaluation purposes.
- Gold and Full Members shall be granted all the benefits accorded to Associate Members and the following benefits.
- Voting Membership on IAB with 200 voting points for Gold Members and 100 voting points for Full Members.
- Through its representation on the IAB, an opportunity to provide advice on research topics of industrial relevance, and participate in the selection of Consortium Projects. Voting members shall have 200 points (Gold Member) and 100 points (Full Member) to use in the selection process.
- A non-exclusive royalty free license for Project IP for internal research and development use only.
- A non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free commercial license as set forth in the Membership Agreement.
Consortium Bylaws – IAB
- IAB shall be responsible for making key strategic decisions related to the overall direction of the Consortium, including selection of Consortium Projects.
- IAB will annually, by majority vote, elect a chair.
- Quorum - a majority of the voting points of IAB Gold and Full Members.
- Consortium projects - each Gold/Full Member shall have 200/100 voting points for each membership.
- Non-proposal issues - each Full Member shall have one vote.
Officers
Dr. Baojun Bai is designated to be the Consortium Executive Director. His responsibilities include:
- General active management of the business of the Consortium and shall take under advisement all resolutions of the IAB;
- Perform all duties related to daily oversight of the Consortium.
