What do I do now?

This class does not have traditional lectures.  Instead, there are a variety of learning aids already available on this web site and in Blackboard.  Your first goal is to become familiar with them.

Get a good start to the semester.  Do the following before the second class period.

  1. Watch the chapter 1 concept and demo videos on the class web site.
  2. Attempt the chapter 1 homework assignment in Blackboard.  Note that learning aids for most of the homework problems are available on the class web site and in WileyPLUS.
  3. During spring and fall semesters
    • If you are in Springfield, bring a laptop/tablet/smart phone to the help session in PCTR during the second class period.  Be ready to ask questions, finish your problems, and help your classmates finish theirs.
    • If you are on co-op, feel free to email questions to the instructor.
  4. During summer semesters
    • Drop into the Adobe Connect help sessions during the second class period to ask questions.

Do the following before the third class period.

  1. Finish the chapter 1 problems.
  2. Watch the chapter 2 and 3 videos.  (During summer semesters, the first quiz usually only covers chapters 1 and 2, because it occurs during the first week of the semester.)
  3. Attempt the chapter 2 and 3 homework assignments.
  4. As described above, seek help during the third class period or email the instructor.

Etc, Etc.  This is how the semester will be structured.  We will meet in PCTR 2005 (Springfield) for the first quiz covering chapters 1-3.  See the "Quiz Prep" section on the chapter 3 page for an explanation of what the quiz will be like.

Have a great semester!
